*CANCELLATION* The Head of the Colorado also know as the PumpkinHead planned by the Austin Rowing Club for the Lady Bird Lake/Colorado River in Austin, Texas was cancelled yesterday by the Austin Parks and Recreation Department due to dangerous lake conditions. The Collegiate Small Boat Challenge continues for another day at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, New Jersey. The Princeton National Rowing Association/Mercer hosts 55 entries from 7 clubs. Web: http://www.pnra.org

Tampa, Florida is celebrating Halloween with a Halloween Regatta hosted by the Plant High Rowing Association on the Bypass Canal at Harney Park. For more information see: http://www.planthughrowing.com

The South Shore Invitational, a Novice Challenge will be held on the Neponset River in Boston hosted by the Friends of Milton Crew with 17 entries from 4 clubs. Website: http://www.neponset.org

In the opposite direction so to speak, the North Star Challenge, a head race on the  Mississippi River will be held in Minneapolis hosted by University of Minnesota Men’s Crew. There will be 32 entries from 7 clubs. Minnesota Men’s Crew has a few older boats to loan out including a lightweight coxed 4+ and a few Vespoli 8+s if needed. The Head of the Eagle, a traditional head race will be held at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Rowing Center will host 333 entries from 34 club on the Eagle Creek Reservoir starting at the South pool and finish at the North pool.  Gates open at 6am. This will be a dual race with a 4200m head race course and a 1000m buoyed sprint course. Dual sprint racing begins at 3:30pm. Web: http://www.indyrowing.org

The Naples Island Collegiate Rowing Challenge will be held in  Long Beach, California, hosted by Cal State Long Beach Crew at Long Beach Marine Stadium on Alamitos Bay. There will be 34 entries from 6 clubs including Master – Open – Collegiate Men & Women – Adaptive – Novice – International in addition to Halloween Themed Race and Hat Races. Also in California, the Head of the Marina Regatta will be held in Marina del Rey for Master – Open – Collegiate Men – Collegiate Women – Collegiate Men & Women – HS – Junior – Novice, held by the  California Yacht Club. Web: http://www.calyachtclub.com

Held since 1989, Portland LO/OP Regatta: Head of the Willamette will be hosted by Oregon Rowing Unlimited and the Portland Rowing Club at Oaks Park. There will be 22 entries from 22 clubs. This is a full race weekend at Oaks Oak with the Portland Fall Classic on Sunday. Web: http://www.oregonrowing.org

The Fall Metropolitan Regatta will be held in New Rochelle, New York. This regatta is for Collegiate Men – Collegiate Women – Collegiate Men & Women.

The Head of the Fish Regatta is always held on the last weekend in October hosted by the Saratoga Rowing Association.  The Head of the Fish 2015 is one of the largest regattas in the U.S. attracting 160 team from across the northeast with 2,500 boats to the State Boat Launch on Fish Creek in Saratoga, New York.
