Spring, the Vernal Equinox officially started last night in the Northern Hemisphere. And while both hemispheres share equal night, Spring in the Northeast triggers blooming daffodils and feathering oars under a bright sun.
The Flick-Horvat Regatta, the 2nd in the Manny Flick/Horvat series will be held at 2 Schuylkill River in Philadelphia for High School rowers hosted by the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association. There will be 305 entries from 54 clubs.
In Florida, the Tenth Annual Tampa Mayors Cup Regatta will welcome over 128 entries consisting of over 750 rowers from 21 clubs in Master, Open, Collegiate, High School and Junior categories to be hosted by the The Stewards Foundation. The Harney Park ByPass Canal racecourse will provide both a 1000m and 1500m buoyed protected course for the regatta.
In Georgia, the 30th Annual John Hunter Regatta continues for another day at the Lake Lanier 1996 Olympic venue in Gainesville. Collegiate, High School and Junior entries will compete on 2000m on the buoyed six lane course hosted by St. Andrew Rowing Club and Georgia Tech.
In British Rowing, the Vesta Veterans Head will be held on the River Thames hosted by the Vesta Rowing Club. The International Eights for Masters will follow a racecourse that starts from Mortlake to finish at Putney.
