Murphy Cup, Murtaugh Cup and More

It’s just before Easter and the last Saturday in March. It also feels like the snow may be behind us but one never knows.

 The 34th Memorial Murphy Cup Regatta will be held in Philadelphia on the Schuylkill River for Collegiate rowers hosted by Temple University. There will be 191 entries from 32 clubs. 

The TARS Regatta will be held in Winter Park, Florida on Lake Maitland for Rollins College, Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle hosted by Rollins College.

 The Murtaugh Cup poses Navy vs. Princeton in Annapolis. The Murtaugh Cup is named for Joe Murtaugh who was the head lightweight crew coach at Princeton University from 1988 to 2005 and U.S. National Team coach.

Also in EARC lightweight men’s rowing, Georgetown races Delaware in DC.

The Adirondack Erg Sprints will be held in Troy, New York hosted by Rensselaer Crew Club in the ECAV Auxiliary gym. 
American Youth Cup Series II will be held on the Gulf Coast of Florida in sunny Sarasota for HIgh School and Junior rowers hosted by Sarasota Crew. There will be 164 entries from 9 clubs at Nathan Benderson Park. In Massachusetts, the Rockrimmon Ergatta will be held in Springfield. Master Open, and Junior categories will be hosted by the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club. There will be 102 entries from 11 clubs in Master, Open, Adaptive, Collegiate, High School and Junior categories converging at the Rockrimmon Boathouse.  

The Polar Bear Regatta, yes the Polar Bear Regatta will be held in Fairfax Station on the Occoquan Reservoir in Virginia. It still gets cold in the Northeast, especially in the morning and has been know to snow into April. There will be 86 entries from 17 clubs hosted by Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association.
