Regattas abound this weekend from Eastern Europe to Canada, to Germany, the UK and the USA. The weather may be light and breezy, but minds are on the water and the rowing will be fierce.
Hudson Valley Rowing League will host the Hudson Valley Rowing Championships today on the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, New York. There will be 78 Junior entries from 15 clubs.
The Methuen Grammar School Invitational will be held today on the Merrimack River in Methuen, Massachusetts. 61 High School entries from 5 clubs will be hosted by Essex Rowing Club.
Provincetown Coastal Rowing Regatta and Mini Triathlon will be held on the tip of Cape Cod on the bayside of Provincetown Harbor in Provincetown, Massachusetts for 37 Master, Open and Junior entries from 15 clubs hosted by Orleans Sweeps and Sculls. The 8k race course will be comprised of double laps on a 4k course. The Mini Triathlin will be comprised of 150m swim, 600m run and 1000m row.
And the 2016 IRA National Championship Regatta continues through tomorrow at Mercer County Park, Mercer Lake, Princeton, New Jersey.
In Canada, Canadian Secondary Schools Association will host the 71st CSSRA Championships in St. Catharines, Ontario for another day on the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta Course through June 5.
There are a lot of regattas in British Rowing today including the Wimbleball Regatta.
The Hexham Rowing Club will host the Hexham Regatta, one of the biggest one day Regatta events in the UK attracting over 3000 visitors to Tyne Green in the Northern region.
Running over the weekend, both today and tomorrow June 5, Peterborough City Rowing Club will host the Peterborough Regatta, a four lane 1k lake race on Peterborough’s Thorpe Meadows next to the River Nene for Senior, Junior, Master and Adaptive single.
The London Rowing Club will host the Met, the Metropolitan Amateur Rowing Regatta founded in 1866, on Dorney Lake in Eton. The course offers seven 2000m lanes of still water.
And the Hereford Rowing Club will host the Heteford City Regatta, a 1000m race course on the River Wye in the West Midlands Region both Saturday and Sunday.
In World Rowing, the Russian Rowing Federation will host the 2016 Grand Moscow Regatta continuing through tomorrow. a 2000m event for Master, Under23 and Para entries.
The Allegemeiner Alster-Club will host the 2016 International DRV Junior Regatta a 2000/1500m regatta for Junior entries in Hamburg, Germany.
Also in Germany, the Ratzeburger Rowing Club will host the 2016 International Ratzeburg Regatta at Inselstadt Ratzeburg, a beautiful island town and well known health resort in Schleswig—Holstein. The 2000m event is for Senior U23 and Lightweight entries.
The Holland-Beker Regatta for Elite entries will be held in Amsterdam today through tomorrow June 4. For livestream check HERE.
Rowing Club Jarun will host the 2016 International Jumbo Regatta, a 2000m event for Senior, Lightweight, Under23, Junior and Masters in Zagreb, Croatia today through tomorrow June 5.
And, the 2016 Warsaw River Race continues for another day in Warsaw, Poland for Open, Collegiate and High School entries. AZS Warszawa and Warsaw University will host.
