Another Saturday of July Regattas

  

The 31st Annual Carnegie Lake Regatta will be held in Princeton, New Jersey for 207 Master entries from 27 clubs hosted by the Carnegie Lake Rowing Association on Carnegie Lake. This is a 1000m race with a floating start. 

  

Rural Henley Regatta will be held in Klamath Falls, Oregon for Master and Junior entries hosted by Ewauna Rowing Club just shy of the California border in the high desert of Klamath Basin. 

 
 

Capital Sprints will be held in Washington, DC on the Anacostia River for 227 Master, Open, High School, Adaptive, and Junior entries from 27 clubs. Capital Rowing Club will host at the Anacostia Community Boathouse. 

  

Sweeps and Sculls will be held in Providence, Rhode Island for 227 Master, Open, High School and Junior entries from 21 clubs hosted by Narragansett Boat Club, established 1838 on the Seekonk River off River Road. 

  

Lawrence Celebration Regatta will be held in Lawrence, Massachusetts for Master, Open, and Junior entries hosted by Greater Lawrence Rowing. There will be 111 entries from 22 clubs on the Merrimack a River. 

  

  The 36th Annual Chicago Sprints will start today July 9, 2016 continuing through tommorrow July 10, 2016 in Chicago, hosted by   Lincoln Park Boat Club. The Lincoln Park Boat Club was established in 1910 when the Catlin, Union, Iroquois, and Chicago Rowing and Canoe Club combined their resources to build their boat house designed by Dwight H. Perkins in conjunction with landscape architect Ossian Cole Simonds consistent with the Prairies School of design. The boat house and launch blend with the natural environment remaining unchanged for the last 100 years on Lincoln Park Lagoon. into the landscape. The Lincoln Park Zoo is just across the lagoon and there is a bike path just down to the pedestrian bridge running beside Lake Michigan and North Avenue Beach. There will be 381 entries from 31 clubs on the 1000m Henley style race course finishing just short of Fullerton Bridge. 

  

In Canada, Challenge West/BC Championships continue for another day in Victoria, BC for Master, Open, Collegiate, Adaptive, Junior, Novice and International entries. Victoria City Rowing Club will host another day on Elk Lake.

  In British Rowing Bournemouth Regatta will be held Saturday 9th July 2016.
  
 
Burton Amateur Regatta will be held Saturday 9th July 2016 in the  East Midlands region hosted by Burton Amateur Rowing Association. 
  Exeter Regatta will be held Saturday 9th July 2016.
  Kingston Amateur Regatta will be held Saturday 9th July 2016 in the Thames region. Kingston Borough Regatta will be held tomorrow Sunday 10th July 2016.

  

Henley Masters Regatta 2016 continues today  in the Thames region hosted by the Upper Thames Rowing Club. The 1000m Masters regatta was established in 1994 on Henley Reach and is traditionally held the week after the Henley Royal Regatta. For live results check HERE.
  

In World Rowing, the 2016 European Rowing Junior Championships will be held in Trakai, Lithuania hosted by Aurimas VILYS. The 2000m race course stretches across 7 lanes on Lake Galve.  

  
Lithuania has had a long history in rowing starting in Klaipeda in 1885. Regattas have been held in Trakai on Lake Galve since 1928. The international Amber Oars regattas have been held in Trakai since 1962 and Trakai was host for the World Rowing Junior Championships 2002, FISU World University Championships 2006, World Rowing Masters Regatta 2008, World Rowing U23 Championships 2012, and the World Rowing Junior Championships 2013.
