First of the October Regattas 2016

  
Charlie Doyle Memorial Regatta will be held today at Island Metro Park in Dayton, Ohio hosted by Greater Dayton Rowing Association and Five Rivers MetroParks. There will be 274 entries from 20 clubs competing in a 2400m head race on the Great Miami River. A portion of the entry fees will benefit Dayton Children’s Hospital. 

  

Head of the Mississippi will be held October  1, 2016 on the Mississippi River between Ford Dam and St. Anthony Falls in Minneapolis, Minnesota hosted by Minneapolis Rowing Club. There will be 227 entries from 21 clubs. 

  

High Point Autumn Rowing Festival will be held in High Point, North Carolina today on Oak Hillow Lake. High Point Rowing Club will host 150 entries from 20 clubs.

  

I’m OCU Head of the Oklahoma will be held over the weekend from October 1, 2016 through October 2, 2016 in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Oklahoma City University will host 780 entries from 46 clubs. There will be a 2.5 mile head race today. Tonight boasts the 500m OGE NightSprints to be rowed on the only permanently lighted race course in the world. Now that’s style. 

 
The 30th Annual Head of the Ohio will be held October 1, 2016 to October 2, 2016 on Washington’s Landing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania hosted by Three Rivers Rowing Association. There will be 383 entries from 44 clubs. 

  
In Canada, Deep Cove Classic will be held today on Burrard Inlet – Indian Arm in  North Vancouver, British Columbia hosted by Deep Cove Rowing Club. There will be 55 entries from 12 clubs competing on the 5.5km course starting at the Deep Cove Rowing Club Boathouse, turning around Jug Island with a return finish to aptly named Panorama Beach.

  In British Rowing, the Wansbeck Long Distance Sculls & SBH will be held Saturday 1st October 2016 in the Northern region hosted by Northern Rowing.

  

 Cambridge Small Boats Head will be held Saturday 1st October 2016 in Cambridge hosted by  Rob Roy Boat Club, established in 1880.

  
Worcester Small Boats Head will be held Saturday 1st October 2016 in the West Midlands region hosted by Worcester Rowing Club on the River Severn.

  
Reading Small Boats Head will be held Saturday 1st October 2016 in the Thames region hosted by Reading Rowing Club on the River Thames.

  
Runcorn Autumn Head will be held Saturday 1st October 2016 in the North West region hosted by Runcorn Rowing Club on the River Weaver in Cheshire. 

  

In World Rowing, 2016 International Regatta Trakia will be held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, a 2000m event for Senior A, Lightweight and Junior categories.
